The first rod blank I made already had a plug in one end. The new blank I just got is not plugged. So...what's best for plugging it? Epoxy? Aquaseal? What would you recommend? Re: Plugging end of ferrule

I had the end of a ferrul chip and the plug fell out. I cut it flush and it was suggested that I put a small piece of cotton in the end then fill it with U-40 Rod Bond. It worked great! I've continued to use the rod and can't tell any difference. Good luck! Kim Re: Plugging end of ferrule

Rod Bond works well. I prefer using one of the clear rubber shower/tub grouts you can get real cheap at a hardware store. Squeeze a drop in, cover the hole with masking tape, and store upside down overnight. Remove the tape and its ready. Its lightweight, flexible, and waterproof. RB Re: Plugging end of ferrule

I use rod bond, putting a piece of tape over the ferrule end, and inverting it overnight to get a nice smooth finish on the end. Sanding or filing if necessary is the final step. Rob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
