I'm looking for stabilized wood to use for a butt cap. I see Clemen's has some wood dowels that are stabilized and are about 1 1/4" in diameter. Is there any place that I can get a larger diameter? Thanks Re: Stabilized Wood...

What you will probably have to do is find some stabilized pieces from one of the pen supply houses, but even then you may not find those large diameter pieces you need. If you will go ahead and turn your own wood and then send the piece to Mike Ludemann at Wood Stabilizing Specialists International, they will stabilize the piece for you. They charge by weight and butt caps don't weigh much. I'd try to send several at once. Give them a shout for the specifics at: Mike@stabilizedwood.com ..............
