I've heard a few good comments about this. Anyone have anything negative to say or warnings I should know about? Re: U-40 cork seal

I use it all the time and love it. Gives the cork a slightly darker color and really protects the cork. I think it makes the cork feel better in the hand, also. Re: U-40 cork seal

I use it on every rod I build with cork grips. It will make the cork surface less silky smooth at first but it sure makes the cork easier to clean later on. Also keeps it from getting wrinkled after being exposed to water for a long time. Re: U-40 cork seal

I also use it on every rod I build. I think its a very good product. I hate having to peel it off my fingers after applying, so I started using a rubber (latex) glove. Also, after applying, I wipe the finished cork with a quality paper towel. This removes any small particles that would wind up as "bumps" that the customer would feel every time he picks the rod up. Maybe it's the way I'vbe applied U-40, but it can make the grip very slippery if fish slime or sun block gets on your hands. This is the only negative feedback I've heard. Re: U-40 cork seal

I also use it on all my rods and find it to be a very good product and very easy to use. One bottle does quite a few rod handles so it is not very expensive either. Jim Smith Re: U-40 cork seal

I apply mine with a brush. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
