Has anyone been able to find any plastic or pvc 1.25" id pipe? I have found some that's says 1.25 but it's always a little bigger. I need some that is exactly 1.25" id. If anyone knows where to get some please let me.

Thanks,
Steve

I doubt you will find any plastic pipe sized as 1 1/4 that is true to size. Pipe is made as "nominal" size and is generally slightly over size from stated dimension. You might look for tubing which is measured by OD and might find some that is right on at 1 1/4 ID. Other than that, probably, your only real option is to find some Plastic pipe in schedule 60 or more and re-bore it. Hopefully, you don'nt need long lengths. Schedule 60, 80 and above is usually closer to true size too, but be prepared to pay, the stuff is pretty spendy.

Steve, I am gussing that you want that size i.d. to do something with 1-1/4" diameter cork rings, in which case you don't want too long a piece. Based on what I am guessing at I will offer the folowing: I was able to make a standard pvc tube jig by glueing together one under size piece into an over size piece using pvc glue and then boring it out to exactly 1.25", as John suggested. But in the end I could only get a snug fit on just a few of the cork rings because the cork ring o.d's are also very nominal. So I had to get oversize rings and turn them down to 1.25" to use the jig. Like I said, I am guessing at what you want to do with it. Just keep in mind that all "out of the box" cork rings are not created equal. They typically are not round, are not very close to the diameter advertised and have a taper to them which all contributes to not fitting in any jig you will make. You may check with some of your local electrical service shops that install underground wiring. They probably will have a variety of short pieces of different sizes pvc pipe that may get you what you want. Hope this helps a little.......Dave

I'm looking at a spec sheet for PVC pipe. 1-1/4 PVC Sch. 80. It has an o.d. of 1.66 and a minimum wall thickness of .191, making the o.d. a minimum of 1.278 which is close to 1.25. Because of the variance in cork o.d.s it might work to take a piece of PVC Sch.40 and cut it along it's length to make a kerf, then use a hose clamp or something similar to pull the kerf together to tighten around the cork. The i.d. of 1-1/4 K Hard copper is 1.245 and the i.d of 1-1/4 L Hard copper is 1.265, if you can make copper tube work. An industrial or mechanical plumbing shop should have some scrap laying around you could experiment with.
