I have the "standard" 1 1/4" X1/2" cork rings. I want to slice them and end up with two rings each 1 1/4" X 1/4". How do I cut them and get them egually "thick"? I have been using a jewelers saw, which resulys in a very fine cut, but the blade is so thin, it seems to drift as it goes through the cork. When I sand the rings to get them even, I end up with a downhill slide. Is there another saw with or without a miter box, that anyone has used and recommends? Thanks, Steve S. Take a 1 x 4 and cut a v slot from the outside edge to the middle. Make it wide enough for the ring to fit inside the V. Place the ring on a bolt and secure with a nut and washer above and below. Chuck into a drill press. Set the depth of the drill press with the ring inside the v at the place you want to cut. Put a hacksaw blade (teeth backward) on the 1 x 4 and simply guide it through the spinning ring. Works great. (I have a drawing on a Word file you want to see it.) Re: ?'s re Cork Ring cutting

I took a short (1 inch long)11/4 inside diamiter piece of PVC pip. Measureing up from one end a 1/4 inch and using a hack saw, cut 1/2 way thru the pip. The sloat is wide enought to use a Exacto blade or a razor blade. Works great for me also Clemons tackle has cork jigs. Good luck Bob Re: ?'s re Cork Ring cutting

Steve S. Golden Witch makes a cork ring cutting jig. It uses a shop vac (that you supply) to hold the ring in place. It is in thier catalog, might be able to see it on thier web site. Link for Golden Witch is on left. Bill Doherty Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
