Hello: Does anyone have any info. on the new or soon to be released thread wrapping software. It is supposed to enable you to lay out your cross wraps thread by thread and color by color on your computer before applying them to your rod. It sounds like a very helpful and fun program. Any Info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Tom Re: Thread Wrap Software!

I understand the software is to be introduced at the Guild Conclave starting tomorrow. I'm sure there will be lots of discussion on the topic in the weeks ahead. Re: Thread Wrap Software!

It is being unveiled today and tomorrow at the Guild conclave. I'm sure there will be some dealers signing on to distribute it, or at least more information and hands on reports by Monday morning. ....................................... Re: Thread Wrap Software!

I tested it for about 2 weeks in December. I think you guys are going to like it a lot. I entered about 80 patterns from Custom Thread Art to update the website when he makes it available. There package will do the layout for the centers of a closed wrap for you - all you need to do is enter teh starting and ending rod diameter, click a button, and it pops up - print it out if you like. There is also a 3D viewer that is awesome. This lets you view the wrap at every possible angle. Not only does the rod rotate as if it were on a lathe, but you can move teh rod as if you were sighting down the barrel of a gun - while the rod is rotating. Creating the patterns will take some getting used to, but once you get used to it you'll be banging them out in no time. If there are any specifics you would like to know, ask (I do not know the price yet), and i'll try to answer. Dave is also coming to New York, so I hope to meet up with him next week. Billy, You said you added 80 patterns and updated the website. What website are you referring to, and does this website show the patterns and how they are made, or is all of this only in the software package? I will certainly purchase the cd if available. The other question is, will the software be available within a month? If so, I will hold off trying to experiment on my rod, since this is fairly new to me. Thanks Sanford Hochman Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
