I am building a bass worm rod for myself. The blank is a 7 foot St. Croix, SCII. I am also using the TICH halographic guides. I am going to do a split handle design with EVA grips and between the grips I am going to do a black wrap with a red glitter finish. At each end of this wrap will be a trim wrap of metalic silver. Now the problem I have is that I want to do a butt wrap above the fore grip also but I don't know what color of thread to use. Should I do a red metalic underwrap and a silver and black diamond wrap on top or what would you guys do? I am open for any suggestion. Re: What color?? I'm stumped!

Consider leaving out the underwrap on the decorative wrap. Use the black for your mainstay of the wrap and add silver and red accents in whatever pattern you prefer. This will match it more closely to the wraps. ......... Re: What color?? I'm stumped!

In my opinion if you have a split grip both wraps should match unless you are making all wraps different. I am talking about each guide wrap different as well as each fancy wrap. That makes for a real conversation piece. Jesse Re: What color?? I'm stumped!

Suggest you stick with the red and silver and add a holographic thread to the wrap. Keeps your colors in synch with your guide wraps and adds the extra flash to highlight your guide rings. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
