guide spacing

I'm looking for suggestions for guide spacing on a 7'6" light hot shot rod. I plan on using a casting reel seat with a ten inch butt grip. I have never built this type of rod before and I am looking for a place to start with guide spacing. I'd also like to hear your suggestions on guide sizes.
Thanks in advance !

What I would do is to go to a web site that has guide spacing chart on it. (like Mud Hole) Then tape your guides on the rod place your reel the rod and run the line through the guides, pull the line (like setting the hook or fighting a fish) see if the line touches the rod blank
any where if so move guides untill the line doesn't touch any where.

I hope this helps you.

I would also look into concept spacing for guides on a rod of this type. I just built a 7' casting rod using this system and it turned out great and fishes like a dream. Mudhole has some information on the Fuji concept spacing and guide sizes on their web site and Tom Kirkman covers it in his book. Thanks Tom, I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a more traditional spacing system.

I built a rod like the one you describe but I Spiral Wrapped it. If you are interested in the spacing for this setup, let me know.
