Hello out there in computer land, I had a question on a spiral wrap for a baitcster. For one I would like to know how to space out the guides on a 13' plus rod for drifting in a river? I bought a baitcaster before building rods myself on a 13'6" Sage blank. I notice that the line has a tendancy to touch the blank when I really put pressure on a fish. To avoid this mistake when I build a rod on a baitcasting setup how do I do this? I have noticed on a few rods that the first 4 guides are the ones that do the spiral but I never got a measurement from this rod so I do not know exactly where and at what angles to place them without obstructing my cast. The fellow who builds them I guess does not want to share his secrets. That's fine however it doesn't help me with my problem of figuring it out. Any help is appreciated in advance. Thanks David A Tomasch Re: Spiral wrap on Baitcasters

You've got plenty of information here. Do a search of the archives to uncover many pages of info. Then look down this page just a bit to see another who has asked the same question and gotten some good answers. Then there are the two articles in Rodmaker magazine that spelled out just about everything you could want to know. They might still have these available as back issues. Use their link and go take a look. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
