Fly rod tip top

I just got my CTS 5wt and I need to order a tip top. I have the guides already and I have REC recoil black snake guides. In looking at the REC tip tops they look kind of bulky. Are these as heavy as they look or are they OK? If not does someone have a recommendation for a good tip top? I’m excited about this build. I’m putting a birch bark grip on it and it turned out super.
Any help on the tip top is appreciated!

What do you mean to bulky? They look like they were made out of an aluminum can, but they ae not bulky. There is nothing normal about the construction of guides from nickel titanium memory metal alloy, expecting them to be like any other guide or tip top out there doesn't work, it's a whole new animal.

I bought the black tip in recoil and it is heavy. To save some weight I changed to a tip top in a matching color from another manafacturer. I think it was 0,2 gram lighter, if I remember correctly.

Exactly what I was afraid of. It looks heavy.
Thanks!

Todd
REC used to be the lightest tip-top available.
It used to be a nickel titanium alloy ring staged into an aluminum tube.
But they wanted to be able offer tip-tops in Black.
Couldn't do that in aluminum.
So opted for stainless tubes.
As an option I have used Snakebrand ECO tip-tops.
Don't know if they come in Black though.

Thanks Herb! I found a couple of good alternatives.

The Recoil tip tops are rather stout. I do not notice any difference on my rods on those where I used them. If you want thinner and lighter, plenty of others offer that.

A Fuji titanium SIC model is always a good idea on a fly rod.
