Anyone have any tricks to the tape not showing up through the epoxy when installed on the rod. I have used Decal connection with no issues at all after epoxy is applied the decal tape completely disappears. I thought I could save some money and print custom names or logos myself. I purchased the lw-px800 printer and so far every attempt has shown through the epoxy. I have applied a coat of epoxy first. Let it dry then warmed up the area and applied the decal. It still shows through. Any suggestions will be a great help.
Thank you Joe Pirro Re: Lw-px800

Joe, I've struggled with this issue for several years. Because these are industrial labels, they are considerably thicker than rod manufacturer's labels and the edges are visible particularly when applied to a slate gray or dark rod blank. Edge visibility hasn't been much of an issue when applied to a light-colored painted blank. I've tried a few work arounds to improve the appearance like trimming the label close to the lettering or image, coating the edge with thread sealer- it helps make the edges less visible but they don't disappear. Placing an Epson label over a dazzling, epoxy-sealed dragon scale pattern will certainly draw your eye away from the label's edge though. LOL Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
