Logan, thank you for the response. I appreciate it. I, and others on various rod building forums I visit, agree with you as far as the straightness of NFC blanks. I've had some that are very straight, the majority of them having a slight curve, which I find totally acceptable. And some that are well...... pretty darned crooked.

As you said, performance, cost and the multitude of options available keep me coming back as well. But like you said, if you're building a rod for someone else, it can become a tricky situation.

To their credit, I will say that any time I have had a problem with how straight a blank has been, I just take a couple of pictures of the problem blank, and I have always been able to return the blanks, with few if any questions asked. They have treated me wonderfully in that respect.

Actually I've been treated well in all of my dealings with NFC. Aleks has put a good team together, and is really shaping it up from what I understand it used to be.

Pactrick, I have a customer that brought me 2 of the 765 NEO blanks. They are Horrendous!!! I was able to put one together however the second is past the point of being usable. I’ve never seen a blank with a twist like this one. It twists on multiple axis’s. I had the owner call them to see what they will do. I’ve built many of these blanks for customers and never seen the likes of these. Hoping they will make it right for my guy.

I fully agree, the CB705 Zentron is probably the best squarebill and light bladed jig rod I have ever fished. My CB706 Zentron is a dedicated Jackhammer rod, but I do occasionally throw a spinnerbait with it. Both of those go with me pretty much every trip between August and June.

Another sleeper blank for bladed/moving baits (spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, lighter swim jigs) is the Delta MB736. Great stick, also in the boat with me pretty much year round.
