Phenix M1 Swimbait Rods 8' MH

I've only built on one Phenix blank - an ultralight blank for trout. Has anyone built one these blanks? I've read good reviews on them. Only concern is that the butt section is 1" wide and would call for a larger reel seat? Size - I don't know.

I would build this with KW guides - all double foot or KR concept style?

Thanks

What is the exact model number? I cannot believe a 1 inch butt diameter.

I've built one M1 , but it's a finesse rod, really like it.

I just built a 7 1/2 foot Rod Forge MH with KLH 20-10-5.5M + size 5 KB's and KT's and they seem adequate. I would not consider all double foot for a rod like this.

I've built a Phenix M1 inshore series, 711ML and I really like it. I was at a sportsman's expo and told them I wanted something for S-Waver 168 glide baits and that was the blank they recommended.

A 1" butt diameter is hard to believe. The M1 inshore 711ML has a butt diameter around .56" and it has the same line and lure rating as the 8' MH swimbait blank.

I built it with KW10, KW5.5 then size 5 KBs and KTs. I use this guide train on all my bass rods. For the reel seat, I used a Fuji ESCM16.

Built one of the 8' MH for a customer for a big swimbait / wake bait blank. The 1" butt is from where they rear of the blank flares out for an intgerated butt grip.....

From my build sheet notes, I used an Alps MVT size 16-15 seat (exposed blank with 15mm ID).
