Anyone have any tips for keeping EVA foam grips like new for years of fishing? Is there any product like cork seal for cork handles that might help repel dirt, blood, fish slime, etc?
Also, I can't seem to get any results for searching acronyms like NFC or EVA, whether I use caps or lower case, quotes or no quotes. Is this normal? Thanks, Abe Re: Keeping EVA grips like new

When you do a search you have the option of choosing "All Words" "Any Words" or "Exact Phrase." Monkey around with each and I think you will find plenty of search results under one or the other.

Clean with soap and water. Then if you like you can seal them with cork seal. Works great and helps keep them clean. Re: Keeping EVA grips like new

When you wash the boat, wash your rods, you should have no trouble with EVA. Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Re: Keeping EVA grips like new

Cleaning them is as others have mentioned, soap and water, etc ..... as far as the shine that will develop on them over time, about the only way to get rid of that, is sanding.
I have 2 Shimano Speed Master Fighting rods that have EVA grips on them that are 30 + years old. To be honest I had neglected trying to keep them look like brand new, so it took some pretty aggressive sanding to get them back to looking almost new. If they start showing signs of starting to get a sheen on them, I'm thinking hitting them with some sand paper at that time, will save a lot of work, and keep them looking nice and new.
