Let me start with saying thank to all of the rodbuilding Gurus that Participate.
Just to fill you in, I'm a new member, but I've followed for many years. I've been building rods for 8 years. My latest build will be 1 of many dropshot spinning rods, mostly nfc. I'm currently looking at Phenix k2 blanks, the rod I will be trying to match is the nrx872s jwr. I currently have a nrx852s jwr with my measurements of a ERN of 20.4. As everyone who has this rod, knows the tip action is vary soft. Do anyone have ern measurements on k2 blanks? How are the tip action/ speed? I'm aware that the m,mh destination of Phoenix is a bit on the heavy side, meaning they are lighter powered. I was leaning towards the tx764mh casting version. I will be fishing the 1000islands for 5lb average smallmouth, dropshot mostly pitching or throwing to 80' on forward sonar. Using 1/2oz or heavier weights. Current yes, but I will also be running out to the lake. Any comments on Phoenix blanks please inform me. And yes I have many NFC ds builds. Thank you Warren Yes I can just go purchase a nrx872,np, that's not our thing???? Warren Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
