Yep, you are correct. Did a search and found that It can be thinned with either water or alcohol. I learned something today, and I’ve been using it for a longtime.

Any tips for writing on ridged NFC non sanded blanks with the caligraphy pens?

For the novice non-sanded blanks pose a challenge. You are likely better off putting one or two thin coats of thread epoxy in the are you want to inscribe and then apply ink over that and then put on another coat or two.
