Funny how things cycle! 40 years ago we built ice rod handles to accommodate taping on a reel, then "rings" were the thing then reel seats! Now the tape on thing is back. How long are you guys making the mid grip? The high end store handles are 3 1/4". I have big hands and that seems too short? 4"? I made my personal rods 5ish" to fit my hands. I'll try to add a photo if I can.
Thanks! Marcus /Users/marcusmccleery/Desktop/IMG_2513.jpeg Marcus McCleery Re: Length of "tape-on" ice handle?

Don't think my photo worked? How do you add a photo? Marcus McCleery Re: Length of "tape-on" ice handle?

Sorry "Wisdom Overload" I already asked the question about the handle length.
I would like to know how to add a photo? Marcus McCleery Re: Length of "tape-on" ice handle?

When I was making ice rods, I typically used either 5 inch or 7 inch grips for use with tape on reels.
Use the one that works best for you. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
