Here's an update on where I'm at right now. I created 16 test wraps with guides on a piece of scrap blank, using Pro Wrap regular nylon, Pro Wrap Colorfast, Fuji Ultra Poly, and Fuji NOCP in pairs. Eight received Flex Coat Lite, eight received Gen 4 Low Build. Four of each group of eight got coated right after the epoxy was mixed, and then I added 0.4ml of acetone with a pipet to the rest of the remaining 6cc in each cup of finish, stirred it in, and coated the other remaining eight wraps to see what would happen. Each of the wraps that received the epoxy with acetone penetrated uniformly about 50% more than the ones without: fully encasing the guide feet. After curing, everything was good on all the wraps; I didn't notice any degradation, difference in color, or material hardness between the two sets. Food for thought.
Thanks for your input, Roger. I always pay close attention to it. You're a gifted man. Re: Finish & Guide Tunnels

Actually John, although all "drops" are not created equal, after over forty years of watching IV bag drip rates, the average drop is about 1/15th of a cc (or ml if you prefer...one and the same). So in essence, your four drops were in fact less than 1/3 of the epoxy volume, but greater than than 1/4. So you got close! :-) Re: Finish & Guide Tunnels

John,
I've been using Perma Gloss over my labels and decals. You'll never get a flatter finish than that, but make sure that the decal/label can handle the Perma Gloss solvent (xylene I believe). I also put a couple of coats on NFC sanded blanks before applying the decal. Stays in place a whole lot better. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
