I'm using an Alps RA7 on a 6wt fly rod. I want to put a fighting butt on but Alps doesn't make the cork check between the bottom of the seat and the fighting butt. Does anyone have a suggestion for this or should I just go without?
Thanks Re: Cork check

Not familiar with the exact component but you can always make your own with Burl cork for a it of robustness over normal cork - several burl cork vendors offer rings without the bored hole in some of the rubberized versions for such purposes Re: Cork check

Look at the Alps HERA7WL2, R-CAH LXL2, TRI-RAH12. Get Bit Outdoors has them and those all have the winding check at the end of the reel seat for the butt piece. Re: Cork check

Rod building is a mix and match world, maybe one of the winding checks from the gear rod or fly rod lines will work, give the Batson folks a call, they do this kind of thing on their builds all the time. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
