I am looking for an equivalent travel fly rod blank (3 or 4 piece) to the St Croix SCIII, 3F905.4 in 5wt and 6 wt. Since St Croix no longer sells blanks,
I cant replentish my supply. Your help is appreciated. Re: Equivalent Fly Blank

You can get a C4F905.4 at Rod Geeks for $100. I have not built off of their fly rod blanks yet but I am sure someone else might be able to give you some feedback on them. Re: Equivalent Fly Blank

St Croix does in fact sell blanks. RodGeeks is St Croix blank “store” and they are shipped directly from St Croix.
C2 = SCII (Premier & Triumph) C4 = SCIV (Legend & Imperial Fly Rods) C5= SCV (Legend series) B2 = SCII (pre 2016 mojos, BassX) B3 = SCIII (Avid and newer Mojos) B4 = SCIV (Legend Tournaments) Regarding fly rods, I recently built a RodGeeks C4904-4 (9’ 4wt, 4pc) fly rod for my dad and it’s a fantastic rod. I paired it with a Lamson Liquid reel and SA Amplitude fly line and it significantly outperforms my NFC FAF904-2 (Classic 9’ 4wt, 2pc) fly rod that I made for myself (paired with a Cheeky Preload). From everything I’ve read, the NFC is supposed to be the better rod, but thats not my experience . I’m sure the line plays a significant factor regarding performance but the St Croix blank casts like a dream and fishes better than any rod I’ve messed with. I love my NFC 9’ 4wt, but the St Croix just fishes better. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 09/13/2023 05:12PM by Evan Cobb. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
