It won't present the same AA number. The result will be lower once the blank has been cut.

The numbers will definitely change in actual CCS because CCS uses % of deflection as the constant. So the 33% deflection requires more weight at full length vs. cut length because you have to deflect a longer distance in inches than the shorter version of the same blank.. So naturally the AA (as measured by CCS) goes down with less weight because you are not stressing the rod the same. I do not disagree with that or the CCS. I am not attacking CCS either. I agree it coupled with TNF is the best comparative measures we have.

I am just saying when in practical use the lure and line is a constant. When working a chatterbait, or most any bass baits, you only load the tip section. Bait action is the most important thing and it remains unchanged. Cutting down the butt (especially when it doesn't hit taper) doesn't change that for a moving bait. It most definitely does change the fish fighting when you load deeper into the rod.

Now with worming or jigging and other bottom contact baits the length matter but only as an impact to radial distance. The rod is longer, so lifting from 3 to 12 moves the bait further.

Have you called NFC to get their feedback on how this would affect the blank? I'm curious as I've seen the claim to shorten it down to 6-9, but that definitely seems like a lot of trimming and them advertising it makes me think the did something special to blank to allow it. I'm not getting into an argument over the CCS, AA, or Power results, but simply what is NFC's stance on the advertised claim.
