I have a bunch of NFC X-ray blanks yet to build. I like them.
Does anyone have any opinions on or experience with the Delta series of blanks? How do they differ from the X-ray series? I'm looking to use inshore....trout/redfish/snook. Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

My take on a small sample of same models
A little slower A little heavier Possibly a bit less power, but some models show more A bit tougher I’m not sure if they all have a bit of glass or if that is just the hybrids. No info like some JDM Diawa bass rods that say “6% glass” Certainly a quality price conscious blank. Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

I’d agree with Mr. Tim’s assessment. I built a Delta MB703-1 casting rod I use for small action-baits, little poppers, jerk-baits, lipless cranks, and 1/4oz chatter-baits. I rarely loose a fish once hooked and I dobt feel under powered reeling in 2-3lb largemouth. It’s a great blank and I would be comfortable using it for slot reds and trout. I also built a Hybrid CB705 rod it’s too bulky for my liking. The butt looks like it’s 3/4” wide (I don’t remember what it was exactly) and too thick all the way to the tip. The blank works good but it’s just not sleek and sexy like a Aston Martin it’s more like a short bus or an oompa loompa. Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

The 703 is a great choice for trout and reds both in spinning and casting.. Its a little heavier than a comparable xray but still very light. Just got back from Fourchon this morning with a bag full of speck and red filets. I've got the X-ray set up for casting a 1/4oz jig and the 703 set up for spinning/braid/12# mono leader, and a 1/8oz jig and a trick worm. Don't tell anyone, but the trick worm snapped off of the bottom slays the larger specks. Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

Just ordered a cb704 to try out. The CB701 is a nice little blank Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

Aleks once said that MB models from Delta line are exactly IM line just not sanded... so I guess they are a real deal Best regards, Pavel Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

I have a MB705 Delta and I love it. I use it for freshwater stripers, throwing Texas rigged worms.
I also have what was supposed to be a MB795 Delta, but the blank I received was sanded and only 7' 3-1/3". I built it anyway and, again, use it for stripers, drifting live minnows and it's awesome for that. Re: NFC Delta line of blanks

I have a few delta blanks in the salmon/steelhead line and bass. They are a bit heavier but they are tough blanks. I’ve pulled on a couple of the steelead/salmon blanks in the worst possible angles and they’ve all held up great. And for the cost(and I think they are discounted right now) they definitely are a great bargain. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
