I am building a 12' 6" double handed rod for overhead casting for stripped bass from the shore. This rod is going to be used with mono running line and a shooting head.
Now to my dilemma, single footed guides or snake guides for this build. I am looking for more distance when casting.

The guide type isn't going to affect casting distance by much if at all. There is very little friction between the line and the guide rings as there is no force pressing them together. You could likely bend a set of guides from paper clips and get as much distance as any actual guide would give you.

So think about weight. That's a long rod. You want as little swing weight as possible. I would move towards something like the old Pacific Bay Minima type guides which I think several companies like American Tackle and SeaGuide now offer. Lighter than ceramics but a closed ring style. Be careful on sizing. Do you fish in waters that often freeze? Might not want to go under a size 8 if so. Otherwise you may get by with 6's. Make very sure the rings are large enough to easily pass your head to running line connection.

Double foot yes, probably first three or so. Most of the power in the rod is in the lower half so you may want that additional guide strength there.

Sizes are going to depend on will easily pass your connections. I would likely try a set that featured a high frame (spinning type 16, down to a 10 and then to an 8, followed by as many 8's (SF) as needed to get to the tiptop. Now it is possible that you run down to 6's which I would do if your connection will easily pass. This might require that you buy several of both sizes but in the long run these type guides aren't very expensive. It would be worth the investment.

Strippers: 6 and under 12 mm DF I use 2 ceramics on everything. 7 to 10 wt. 16 mm, above 10 wt. a 20 mm. You didn't mention line weight/grains you are throwing.

The blank is a lmx Fasy 1269-4 Norfolk Composite 625-700 grain line

So,you decided to go with a Spey blank after all.
That grain rating is for Anchor Poiint Casting (Spey) not for OH casting.

Double foot snake guides. I do not recommend single foot snake guides. If you are to use single-foot guides use ceramic ones and add more than you would double foot snakes. The double foot snake guide is the lightest and the best casting set up.

Had to cxl my order from Norfolk Composite they are offering a product that they don't have in stock or available.
So I need a suggestion for a reasonable price blank 12' for a two handed rod overhead casting. ????
