@DAVID thanks, and I did make 3 tape arbors but the amount of epoxy that FLex Coat said to use and the consistency of it didn't really build up in between arbors. I used their kit with the syringes and measured what they said but it didn't seem to build up enough to touch the blank between arbors - and I'm not sure it could've if I had more because it was more runny that I see on youtubers using Propaste or Rod Bond. The Flex coat rod builders epoxy is a thin type of epoxy which will level out and thus is not as good at filling gaps as the paste type of epoxies. These paste epoxies will not flow and remains where it’s placed, they are very good at filling gaps. The paste epoxies include ProPaste and U40 Rod Bond. I use both types of epoxies, depending on what I’m glueing.

@NORMAN - for what purpose do you use each type? I can see flex coat working better for grips than seats and paste maybe being wasted more on grips - and if they all hold about the same I can see that being their effective roles going forward. I finally got my first wraps done - you guys were definitely right about size A thread - it's definitely starting on hard mode, I think the metallic is got was even thinner. Wrapping is a dance huh, gotta pay attention and tune in or you're gonna step on toes haha. I even tried to throw in a couple inlays and a ln olive branch just to see what it feels like. But overall it did feel good, just seeing the blank go from blank to having a couple guides wrapped on inspired a sense of artistic gratification and getting that much closer to having a thing that I made with my hands in my hands feels awesome!
Part of the problem is orientation of the videos I'm watching and finding what's comfortable for me. Somebody might be showing how to wrap and they're wrapping under and to the left but I'm oriented to the right and wrapping over. Which way do you face the rod tip? Which direction do you turn the rod (towards or away from you)? Which way to you put the thread over and around or under and around? Does your dominant hand turn or burnish? I'm sure it's whatever is comfortable to a person works, but I'm curious if there is a natural common tendency one way or the other... or some other haha. The other part of the problem is learning the balance of tension and thread angle. And lighting... LIGHTING!! I gotta put together a lamp for my building area, I might even wear a headlamp. I hand wrap, so for me the thread is coming from behind the blank, and over the top. I wrap turning the rod rod towards me and wrap from left to right. Since I’m hand wrapping I can flip the rod end to end to keep the wrapping direction the same. As always, it’s what you are most comfortable doing.
