Eric,
No matter what you do, how much weight will you save, by wrapping with really thin thread. Remember, if the thread is 1/2 as thick, you will put on twice as many wraps. So, in reality, how much weight can you really save. Lets suppose that you do save weight. Maybe 2 grams. I would bet you that it is 100% impossible for you to feel the difference in using a rod that is 2 grams in weight lighter considering the fact that there is a 6 or more oz reel on the rod where the blank itself and components weigh another 3 or 4 ozs at the lightest. But, if you do make an amazing breakthrough and do save the 2 grams, let us know how different the pole fishes with this lighter rod.. Good luck in your search. Re: Thinnest rod wrapping thread?
