Dennis...this was certainly how it was in the past. Today you can get straight graphite with a blend of different modulus fibers. I'm not familiar with all the different blanks but MHX CB843 comes to mind. [mudhole.com] Re: Crankbait rod

What are the distinguishing characteristics of a "crank bait rod"? I ask because crank baits vary widely in their actions and the resistance they create when in use. Re: Crankbait rod

Typically more moderate or lighter in flex, whether tip or other, to cushion from pulling trebles out transitioning to a stout butt section. All of my cranks have a stronger butt section than my similarly rated mb series. Ymmv. I don’t have an all carbon crank, glass or hybrids. Re: Crankbait rod

Like Tim said, more flex and slower action paired with the stretch of mono makes it more difficult for a bass to pull off or throw the trebles during a jump. Re: Crankbait rod

Getting back on track with the original question, I find the Judge crankbait blanks to be very good. Re: Crankbait rod

Getting back on track with the original question, I find the Judge crankbait blanks to be very good. Power and action numbers only go so far, when someone gets things right, it's special not numbers. Re: Crankbait rod

Is there a single source which identifies and groups a variety of blanks by their ERN, TNF and/or AA? That would save a lot of time searching for such information or money buying and testing for these critical numbers. Which (if any)rod marketers provide this information along with the length and weight of their blanks? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/18/2022 09:01AM by Phil Ewanicki. Re: Crankbait rod

There is no equipment to buy. That's part of the beauty of the system. .......... Re: Crankbait rod
