I am looking for a blank for a light surf rod to be used on the Outer Banks for Puppy Drum, Trout and Stripers. The specs are these: 9' (1 or 2 piece), 1-3 ounces, 12-17 lb line to be built conventional (maybe spiral) for an AbuGarcia 5500/6500 to cast metal and some live bait. Some obvious candidates are the Lami GSB 1081M, GLB 1081M, GLB 1081MH, Ron Arra XRA1083, Loomis 1084, Rainshadow 1088 and Allstar GSW1088. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts, including blanks I may have overlooked. Thanks to all in advance. Hugh Miller Re: Light surf rod

I have used the Loomis 1084 and it's great, but might be a tad heavy for what you want. Maybe the Outcast GSP-1089-2. A great blank and really excels with 2 to 3 ounces. And of course the wild finish doesn't hurt! ...................... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
