I just purchased one of these kits from Netcraft it has a hollow graphite body with two cork bushings. Can someone tell me the theory how this would help to transmit vibrations directly from your rod tip to your hand as they claim. My thoughts would be to ues a solid graphite bushings to connect handle to the rod as to act as if it was one soild unit. Thank you for your help. Re: Tennessee Handle ?

Sensitivity comes primarily from stiffness to weight ratio. You are looking for pieces that are rigid, yet light. Cork is probably better than would be the old style solid, hard, graphite bushings. But you can also step up a notch with the "brick foam" bushings that Pac Bay and Fuji both offer. I am sure they make a size to fit your handle. The are even more rigid but just as light as cork, if not more so. ..................... Re: Tennessee Handle ?

a guy told me that there was a group of engineers that figured out the absolute best placements for the bushings to make the handle the most sensitive. it has to do with the frequencies of the vibrations transmitted through the rod blank, or some such technical jargon. i have no earthly idea if that's true or not (or what those calculations were), but it was told to me as the truth from a guy who's been building rods for 25 years. I believe that the theory behind the T sensor grips is that the empty spaces between the arbors act like a resonating chamber that amplifies the vibrations to the hand. I don't know if this is true or not, but I've found that these handles are extremely sensitive. I recently built a walleye jigging rod for a customer with "stone hands" that resulted in an 11 lb plus walleye while vertical jigging in 25 feet of water. He said that if it weren't for the sensor handle, he never would have felt the tap. Just an opinion, but these handles are great.Bob Vasko Re: Tennessee Handle ?
