This is a restoration of a Diamondback Standard Trout rod, which is the predecessor to the Classic Trout rod 6023 (6' 2/3wt, 2pc). The original cork handle was pretty pitted and the walnut insert for the reel seat was beat up. I liked the knurled hardware even though it was tarnished. So, I turned a new handle/reel seat insert out of maple burl. The handle is bullet shaped, true to the orignal handle. The reel seat insert I turned and then grooved for the butt cap/ring combination. I buffed and polished the knurled hardware. Wish I had taken a photo of the orignal condition so you can see the before/after. Next Time!
