Weave pattern

Several folks have asked me how I developed the weave pattern for the RodMaker gaff that was on the Dec04 cover. This is a similar logo that I just developed to put on fancy gaff for a friend. Pattern ended up being 46 threads. Haven't decided yet but will for sure make the dot over the eye in A red metallic with the rest either all A silver HT metallic or maybe the Laser in gold and the Quipt in Silver A metallic. Turning thread will be A black Nylon. The use of A thread eliminates the blocky look you get with larger thread resulting in smoother edges. I'll try and post a pic of it when done but have to do an 18" butt wrap first, then the weave goes over the butt wrap. I knew I wanted the pattern to be about 45 threads or so, so I took the logo which I got off his business envelope to Office Depot, and enlarged it till it was approx 3.5" high, then traced it onto graph paper, fleshed out the pattern, and did the old fashioned left list!!! Took about 4 hours total. My friend will be suprised for sure!!!
