My experience with glow threads so far has been pretty disappointing. Either didn't glow well, or glowed well until finish was put on it, then stopped glowing. Contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed that to be a known issue.
Have seen some rods that glowed really well lately though, do those folks who have had good success mind sharing what thread they used? Hitena was a strike out for me and the last I tried. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/25/2022 09:42AM by Phil Richmond. Re: Glow Threads

Some of what you’ve seen glowing may actually be UV fluorescing perhaps. I’ve never seen great reviews if the flow thread.
I’ve had decent success in getting a decent glow powered and applying a coat of finish and then heavily dusting the finish, letting it cure, repeat and then do a final coat of finish Re: Glow Threads

I'm wrapping a rod right now with glow thread.
I hate it. It doesn't glow all bright and I've packed the crap out of it and put sealer on it and the finish still wants to bleed through. I am using white. And it'll be the last time. I'll use paint over the wrap from now on. Maybe, someone else has a secret to it. John Scarborough Re: Glow Threads

I think it was a Facebook group that I saw the glow in. It actually looked pretty good which surprised me. Sounds like ya'll have had the same luck I've had. The problem with the pigment powders I found is that they only last for a certain number of years. After awhile they need to be redone. If I find out any good info, will share. Thanks.
