Has anyone used heavy duty, elastic, dental bands, to hold guides in place. They are available in sizes, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 1nd 5/16, on Amazon. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

Flex Coat Guide Foot Adhesive. I demonstrated this all weekend at the show and could have sold a case of it if I had it with me. Check out the videos: [www.youtube.com] [www.youtube.com] Flex Coat Company Professional Rod Building Supplies www.flexcoat.com Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

I have tried the dental bands, and will still use the 1/8 on larger rod sections. For smaller rod sections I have been making bands out of 1/16"ID rubber tubing. It fits tightly and holds the guide feet very well. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

I’ve had good luck with the guide foot adhesive. Just use sparely and push down hard. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

I use them at times, they can be doubled over before rolling down the blank if they're not tight enough. I prefer this type though [www.rodbuilding.org] I intend to try Wacky rings on larger dia. blanks from now on, but haven't tried them yet. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

They have become my go to and like Lynn, on smaller blanks I double them over and they work great for me. So much easier to adjust than tape. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?

I will use the small rubber bands, but I have found that 1/8" wide pinstriping tape from the automotive store works very well. It is elastic, has good adhesion, and doesn't leave a residue. Re: Dental Bands to Secure Guides?
