could you please compare Delta hybrid CB 704 Zentron to APFG742-1 ? Both are rated 12lb but I wonder if / how they differ, especially in terms of casting weight and overall performance

Pawel,

The CB704 is a hybrid - class/carbon, so the backbone will be much stiffer than on the APF742. The CB704 is primarily intended as a light crankbait rod, that you can boat flip a bass with.

The APF742 has a much more progressive / parabolic action.

Take a look at the deflection charts too.

I bought two 7'6" med action fast glass rods to build a couple of King trolling rods. I like what they look like. I put a long plastic handle with an aluminum gimbal butt. I think they will make nice trolling rods.
