Hey everyone, I am in need of a fuse cap for a old custom power wrap model H 289L . It was given to me by a old friend but didn't have the fuse cap or fuse. It says it takes no higher than a 1.6 amp fuse , will a 1 amp fuse work for me? And where can I get the cap for the fuse. Thank you all very much. Just trying to get into this hobby so any suggestions on how to get started would be greatly appreciated. Re: Custom power wrap model H289l

Why don't you just cut off the old one and splice in a new fuse holder.
You will know if a 1 amp fuse is enough if it doesn't blow the fuse. Herb Re: Custom power wrap model H289l

Kenneth,
2X Herb’s suggestion. Fuses and fuse holders are quite inexpensive and easily available at “Radio Shack” type businesses. They are very easy to install; you don’t need to be an EE; there is one wire going into the holder and one coming out and it does not matter what direction you connect it. If you are hesitant, contact Roger Wilson, a member of this site. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! Angler's Workshop also carries them, part # R6119 if you don't have a shop around. Re: Custom power wrap model H289l

Auto parts stores carry in line fuse holders that you can you use up to whatever the amperage you need. You could use this one for what you are wanting with the correct fuse just splice it in where the old one was.

Kenneth,
For a job like that, I would simply insert a 2 amp fuse and move on. If you get a bad short, or overload, the 2 amp will blow just fine. Best wishes. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
