Hello All,
Quick question here: I'm looking into building my first Frog rod and from there description it seems like the Bass 4 is a clear upgrade over the C4, but I can't find any real world comparisons between the 2 and it seems like most people still build on the C4. Has anyone tried these blanks? Is there something that I'm missing?(perhaps a trade off in sensitivity or some other negative quality?) Re: Rodgeeks Bass 4 vs Carbon 4

You won't find any "real world" objective comparisons. I've built a couple C4 and Bass 4 as spin rods, have only fished the C4. It seems to be a very nice blank, maybe not quite a St Croix SC V, but it isn't supposed to be. And my observations are subjective. I would not hesitate to recommend the Bass 4. The B4 and C4 blanks use the same CF prepreg the difference is in their design and the mandrels they are rolled on. The B4 are designed more as bass technique blanks, the C4 are designed as more general use blanks. Doesn’t mean you can’t use A C4 for bass fishing, or a B4 for other types of fishing.

I do a lot of mixed species fishing on the Ohio River. I frequently encounter large Hybrids and catfish. Would the added durability of the B4 not also be advantageous there? Re: Rodgeeks Bass 4 vs Carbon 4
