I have a couple Winthrop terminator butts and my ferrules are pretty tight when I put the blank in. They slip on but I’m wondering about how much gap I need for the glue to be in between the blank and the ferrule. The inside of the ferrule has grooves inside of it that will help but what do you guys think? Re: How tight is too tight on aluminum ferrules?

You want a good slip-fit. It shouldn't be tight nor loose. Just a close slip fit.
With a good slip-fit, you want to use the right viscosity epoxy. Do NOT use any sort of thick paste epoxy such as PC7, etc. Use either liquid or gel-type (RodBond, etc.) epoxy. Prepare a good water-break-free surface condition, coat all mating surfaces and you'll be fine. ............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
