I bought a Fenwick HMG spey rod blank years ago, built a spinning rod and then sold it and am kicking myself for selling it. Would really like to build another (or two). Anyone have one sitting in a dusty corner of your work shop or know of any modern replacements? Looking for 10' - 12' long with medium fast action. I want to build it into a spinning rod. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Re: Spey Rod

Batson has spey and switch rod blanks that may fit your application. The shorter lengths are labeled "switch" and the longer lengths "spey" When looking at these, "scandi" tend to be moderate actions while "skagit" are faster. Either can be built out a spinning rods, a lot depends upon the weight be cast.
Acall to Batson could give you more insight. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
