I looking at build jigging rods for BFT in Cape Cod Bay. Reels will be Talica 20’s Blanks are Thrasher TRJ 6.0 200-325 Would the Alps HXN be a good
choice for this? If it’s not obvious I’m a complete newbie. These will be my 3rd and forth build. Thanks in advance Re: Alps hxn ti

The Alps HXN is my choice for heavy offshore rods. They're super strong and the TI is rustproof (unlike some "stainless steel" offerings out there). I also use the MXNs on tuna rods for up to 30lbs of drag. I've never actually fail tested them against other brands BUT the Alps XN series seems to be rated lighter than similar guides from other manufacturers. I KNOW I have OFTEN put the MXN in situations more suited for a heavy duty guide than a medium duty guide and they have always held up. My feelings are the HXN is just as strong as most "boat guides" and MUCH lighter. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
