Alps LF Spinning Guides - size 20 question

Been using a lot of the LF guides and they are really nice. Mostly on lighter spinning stuff, running a 20-12-8-6's.

My question is how heavy of a rod has anyone built using a size 20 butt guide? Really wondering how large of a reel or line anyone has run like this with good performance. The vast majority of what I do is Pfleuger size 25 reels (1000-1500 size equivalent), and mono no heavier than 0.010" dia. (6-8#).

Thanks,
Marc

4000 size reel in a 30 lb class rod.

Just make sure you have it spaced far enough from the face of the reel so as not to "choke it".

Best wishes,

Marc,
Try a 20, 10, 5.5 then your runners for the smaller reels. I have used this setup down to 2.0 mm runners and it casts very very well in my opinion. If you are using line larger than 12 lb I would suggest either 2.5 or 3mm runners.
