Ultra-Light spinning blanks or a multi-piece rod with perhaps the but section dropped.

Yes I thought about that Tom but how would I know what the weight is in advance ? Is there a particular spinning rod to consider ? TIA Re: How to make a short fly rod

A Batson Forecast 6' SPG721, or 5' SPG601 fibreglass works well for a stream rod.
Roughly 1/16 of an ounce lure weight = 1 wt of fly line. Here is a link; [www.schneidersrods.com] Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: How to make a short fly rod

Sounds like a Tenkara rod would suit your desires. Re: How to make a short fly rod

There is no way on Gods green earth that I'll ever own a fiberglass cane pole . Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
