I have some Shimano Trevala rods, and the reel seat is a Fuji PSSLD, but on the Shimano rods, the reel seat has a rubberized coating. I tried to order the same reel seat from mudhole, and bought the deluxe model. However, the deluxe model, does not have this rubberized coating.
Is this something that is unique and exclusive to Shimano rods? Is there a way to order these reel seats with the rubberized coating? Is there a way for me to apply this rubberized coating myself? thanks in advance for any replies. Re: Help with Reel Seat Rubberizing

there is a RUBBER coat for tools that you paint on an comes in a can , most large BOX STORES have it { HOME IMPROEMENT} , as seen on TV on fixing leaks in BOATS an leaky pails , RUFF up the area a little to make it stick better,
PS don't know if you can thin it out , what have you got to loose on a small can , PS it is highly flammable, do it out side till it dries , William Sidney AK Re: Help with Reel Seat Rubberizing

Are you talking about plastic dip? Or flex seal, something like that? I think I am about to try the plastic dip, will post pictures and results when I'm finished. Re: Help with Reel Seat Rubberizing
