When installing EVA rod grips, should I order the size closest to my butt size, or should I order size smaller and ream? Basically the blank I will be using is 0.572" diameter, and I can get the EVA grip in 0.375" or 0.500". Which is the better choice? Will the 0.500 stretch over, or will both require reaming? Either size will do. I would opt for the smaller grip. The compression of the EVA will give a firmer grip in your hand. You are free to ream it a bit,if you wish to. Not knowing the length of your rear grip or the OD of your blank where the upper portion of the rear grip will be,you know the .375 won't be loose. I doubt the taper is so extreme that the larger ID grip won't work. It should fit fine. Re: Installing EVA Rod Grips

Provided you use the proper installation technique (see the FAQs page here) EVA grips will stretch quite a bit.
Measure the forward area on the blank where the grip will reside. If that is .500 or more, then the .500" grip will be fine. Otherwise get the next smaller size. You might have to ream a little but it shouldn't be too much. ........... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
