Why 5-1/2 feet? Is it a trolling rod? A bait rod? a jigging rod? A casting rod? An "all-around" rod? What pond test line will be used on this rod? Does it have to be one piece? Anglers need the right tool for the right job. Re: HELP with blank

This blank in the medium power version that you trim from the butt of the rod to make a 5'9" would be a wonderful bass/walleye rod.
[www.rainshadowrodblanks.com] ----------- This blank in the m-l version that is trimmed to 5'9" from the butt of the rod only would make a less expensive, but still excellent rod. [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com] ------------ For the least expensive of the blanks from Batson, you could use this blank, which is a 2-piece blank. But because it is a 2 piece blank, I would leave it at the 6'6" length. Use the blank that has the medium power in this series: Since it is the lowest modulus blank, it would also be the toughest blank and less likely to break with extreme or rough handling. [www.rainshadowrodblanks.com] By the way, I have built rods on all three of the blanks that I suggested, and all of the clients were well pleased for their Canadian Walleye / Bass fishing trip. p.s. All of these rods would be built up as a spinning rod, not a casting rod. Good luck Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/14/2017 09:41PM by roger wilson. Re: HELP with blank

Roger beat me to it, we’d also recommend our RainShadow Immortal Walleye sinning rods. IMMWS62L (4-10lb) and IMMWS62MXF (6-15lb)
Can't go wrong with the REVELATION or RX7 lineup as well. James Taylor Batson Enterprises BatsonEnterprises.com | RainShadowRodBlanks.com | ALPSForeCast.com | Build2Fish.com Re: HELP with blank
