Mr. Baylor states that everyone might have a different priority and I couldn't agree more. Me thinks that is why some see matters differently or think certain things aren't important.
Phil, I might argue about your use of the word "efficient". Steve Gardner once confirmed something I long took for granted but never bothered to measure. That being that an extra guide would allow one to gain more line as a blank was pumped/lifted. To me that is a measure of a rod being "efficient". Comes a point where you have to ask....would I rather be able to cast far enough to catch a fish.....or have enough rod to be able to land that fish once hooked. I remind you that you just said no point to a 5wt that can cast entire fly line length (which I might argue based upon the fish that bites). Russ in Hollywood, FL.
