i have a few nearly empty bottles of roddancer optimum flow 45min, and a few nearly empty bottles of the slow cure version.
question is: can i pour all the resin into one bottle, and all the hardener into another, and continue to use with no issue? (just a "new" cure rate) (seems so obvious that there;s bound to be a reason why i cant!) cheers, marty Re: mixing different cure time epoxy glue ?

Sounds like something I would do, however I mix so precisely that I seldom have any of either part left over. Ahem. I wouldn't be afraid to try it. I suspect those who would tell you otherwise are selling finish. Re: mixing different cure time epoxy glue ?

The resins are most likely the same, the hardeners are different. Most likely the stuff will set up, but the pot life and cure time may be anybody's guess.

Marty,
Most slow, medium and fast hardeners from the SAME manufacturer, mixed with the SAME, intended epoxy are compatible with each other and will yield an anticipated pot life somewhere between the two extremes. Hopefully there is no need to emphasize never mixing components from different manufacturers or even different types / applications of epoxy and hardener from the same manufacturer. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: mixing different cure time epoxy glue ?

There are some famous, but i see no longer sponsors of this forum, who did it all the time.
Still do today. Famous for their thread art and some serious off shore rod builds and blank development. Not in the bottle, in the mixing container. From different suppliers too, but of course the underlying resin could be the same and just relabeled. But search for it, it works and is preferred by some on particular applications. Me, i toss whatever is left in the bottom of a bottle. Why endanger a 1 or 2 hundred dollar blank for 50c worth of resin? Re: mixing different cure time epoxy glue ?

Marty,
Take all of your nearly empty bottles of "stuff" and pitch it. As others have said, it is not worth taking a chance. Take care Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
