Not seconds - these are first runs. The OEM just made too many, and we bought them all in bulk. Regards. Who is the OEM?
Also, don't high modulas rods break easily? What is the benefit of using them? Thanks! Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks

No, they don't break easily. They are less substantial than lower modulus rods and therefore are not necessarily as resistant to bumps, bangs and rough handling, but they fish fine and hold up perfectly well if given a reasonable amount of care. Contrary to what you hear, they are not "brittle."

If I can't know who made something, I can't buy it. Just a thing with me. Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks

I would guess that 80% of the blanks on the market have no identifying moniker as to who actually made them.

Not to put anyone on the spot.....but to what extent can one make an educated guess? Based on MSRP, coating/finish of blank, blank type/length, etc. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks

It's hard to do from appearance alone. A tubular shaft made from carbon is pretty much just that. Unless you know the ins and outs of who works with who and what the various arrangements are, it's a really tough call.
The good thing is that most name brand blanks today, regardless of how they are branded, are of pretty decent quality. ................. Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks

Curious - what exactly does 'High Modulus' means - is there an industry standard as to what modulus is classified as 'High' modulus? Do some call IM7 high modulus? (I'm probably missing something and showing my ignorance...:) Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks

Must be why I'm having a hard time selling my Corvette, I know it sorta looks like a Yugo, but trust me..... Re: 75% Off High Mod Blanks
