Tip top sizing

Just wondering is there a problem if I put a 10.0 tip top on a size 9.0? The ring size are the same yet the diameter is a little diffrent on the tube.

I believe the hot melt adhesive can accommodate that difference, but ideally one would put some wrap on the tip to make it fit better.

Wow, didn't even think about putting thread down. Thank you

When I have done this using thread to fill the gap, I leave large gaps between the thread so that the adhesive can also adhere to the blank itself and not all onto the thread.

Mel,
I also use thread to fill the gap. However, I leave no gaps between the thread. I have never had any issues with the tips coming off of the blank.

Depending on the difference, I will use as many layers of thread wraps as are necessary to fill the gap nicely.

Be safe
