micro acid wrap or spiral wrap

This is my first acid wrap and I noticed many are started at 0. I started mine at 60 to 120 to 180. I test cast it an it seems to nice. I am using size 8 fly guides as the transition guides. Using a low profile baitcaster. The line does not come near the blank, just wondering if I will have any other issues I might need to look at?

Make sure the line does not stack heavy to one side on hard running plugs, if you plan to use them on them outfit. Also make sure that when under full load the line isn't down on the fore-grip or hand, depending on how you use the rod.

This is a lightweight senko rod. So that's good and I don't have a forgrip. I did load the rod pretty good and saw no contact anywhere. I will mainly pitch and light casts.

Like Tom suggested Cast the bate out then bring it back under pressure and see how the reel loads Adjust as needed

Probably will be okay, but won't hurt to tape them up and try a little of that just to see how it fares.

Thanks for the help, it loads up good and doesn't torque at all. No loading probably due to the number of micro guides I'm guessing. Going fishing all next week, plenty of time to test.

You generally won't feel any torque on a spiral wrapped rod - which is much of the point of the spiral wrap to begin with.

I found out the hard way that the first guide needs to be rotated a little bit to the side opposite the transition when using the rod for moving baits. Using the rod for senkos will likely not require this.
