Silver Mylar(?) under thread?

I have posted a photo of the Zebco zebra wrap that was on my childhood dream rod. It uses what would now be ProWrap 826S for the zebra thread. What would I use underneath for the solid silver on the outside edges?

I added a photo of a slightly different model of Zebco rod which left the tape(?) exposed on the end. You can see that it is peeling up on the butt end end of the wrap.

It is indeed mylar tape. A few rod building supply companies still carry it, I think. Alternatively you can make a painted area with metallic silver or whatever, although the tape will be quicker and look better.

David, I was wrong. I don't have silver, I have the gold. If you can use that I will send it to you no charge. The name of it is Chartpak graphic tape.

Here is their company link. Perhaps you can order it in silver. i have used this on under wraps on the old fiberglass rod rebuilds. Works great, very thin. You can wrap thread right off the edge with no hassles or gaps. Sorry i didnt have silver.

Looking for a fast underwrap for a thread sample stick and found the widest silver pinstripe material I could get at the local Auto Zone. Still looks good after a year or so and really makes the thread pop. Thin and excellent peel and stick properties.
