Most use the Elliott 7' 1” M-XF [getrodblanks.com] as a drop shot rod or jigging rod and it excels in those two tactics! I can tell you first hand that this blank can handle big fish in cover and tackle deep water fish using a drop shot. I love using the Elliott 7'1” M-XF as a twitching and dock skipping rod too. The reason I like it as a dock rod is: I personally like spinning rods for a dock rod...I'm just more accurate at skipping docks with a spinning rod. So that said, this rod gives me accuracy that I must have around docks. Plus this blank has great feel for the bite and super power to get those fish out from all that nasty clutter under and around docks. I know that there are a lot of different formulas for preferred dock rods but for how I go about it’s the Elliott 7'1" XF is a a perfect match. Built with a Hidden Boot Comfort Seat, SeaGuide SCXOLSG guides and XOG- running guides it weighs just 4.2 ounces or with a Tennessee handle and SeaGuide EUOSDG-1 guides it comes in at a stealthy 3.8 ounces.
I rig the Elliott 7' 1” XF [getrodblanks.com] the same for twitching as I do for docks. So that makes this rod rig a double duty rod each time on on the water. How's that ya say? Well I use a 4/0 or 5/0 EWG and some style of sinking worm and twitch it back at various speeds. This tactic is particularly good when fishing shallow weed flats and inside weedlines. And when you come up on a dock you can skip the dock with the same rig! Oh...this rod is just super on Mille Lacs where targeting smallmouth around endless boulder fields works very well. This blank allows me to twitch or jig those “big pond” smallies. Super fast and powerful this blank gets it done! Sounds good, attractive price. Will have to give one a try with next open build. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
